The General Department initially operated as a registry office at the time of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy and has functioned as an independent structural unit since 1996. The main responsibilities of the General Department include receiving incoming documents, registering them, distributing them to the relevant units, and delivering them to executors; ensuring the dispatch of documents according to their designated purpose; monitoring compliance with document execution deadlines; organizing documents into files and transferring them to the archive; and ensuring the preservation and proper storage of archival materials.
The General Department is also responsible for registering all incoming and outgoing official correspondence and documents, directing documents to the relevant units in accordance with instructions from the university’s management, monitoring the execution of documents, reviewing citizens’ proposals, applications, and complaints, maintaining records management procedures, and providing methodological and organizational support to the university’s structural units in matters related to documentation and records management.
