Natig Amirov was born in 1967.
He graduated in 1990 from the Leningrad Finance and Economics Institute named after N. A. Voznesenski with a degree in Economics.
In 1998, he completed his studies in Law at the Scientific-Educational Center “Tafakkur” University.
From 1990 to 1991, he worked as Senior Budget Economist at the Sumgait City Finance Department.
Between 1991 and 1993, he served as Senior State Tax Inspector in the Department for Taxation of Citizens at the Sumgait City State Tax Inspectorate.
From 1993 to 1994, he held the position of State Tax Inspector in the Department for Taxation of Profits of State Enterprises, Organizations, and Associations, as well as Other Revenues, at the same institution.
Between 1994 and 1997, he served as Head of the Department for Oversight of Compliance with Tax Legislation and State Price Regulation in Non-State Enterprises at the Sumgait City State Tax Inspectorate.
From 1997 to 2000, he was Deputy Head of the Sumgait City State Tax Inspectorate.
From 2000 to 2001, he served as Deputy Head of the Sabael District Tax Office in Baku.
Between 2001 and 2003, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Large Taxpayers at the Ministry of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
From 2003 to 2005, he was Head of the Department for Economic Analysis and Organization of Accounting at the Ministry of Taxes.
Between 2005 and 2009, he served as Deputy Minister of Taxes, and from 2009 to 2016, as First Deputy Minister of Taxes of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
From 25 January 2016 to 30 May 2017, he served as Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Economic Reforms.
By Presidential Decree dated 30 May 2017, he was appointed Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Economic Policy and Industry Affairs and Head of the corresponding Department.
He is married and has three children.
