She was born on 18 July 1965 in Baku.
In 1987, she graduated with honors from the Faculty of History of Azerbaijan State University named after S.M.Kirov (currently Baku State University), where she studied during 1982–1987.
After completing her higher education, she was assigned to work at the A. A.Bakikhanov Institute of History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, and subsequently at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography (now the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology), where she held the positions of senior laboratory assistant and junior research fellow.
Since 1988, she has carried out research activities in Moscow as a research trainee at the Miklouho-Maclay Institute of Ethnology of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
In 2000, she successfully defended her candidate dissertation and was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences.
Since 2000, she has been working at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
Between 2000 and 2005, she served as a lecturer and senior lecturer at the University’s Department of History of Azerbaijan. From 2006, she continued her academic career at the same department in the position of Associate Professor.
In 2014, she successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in history and was awarded the academic degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences.
In 2015, she received the academic title of Professor.
Since 2023, she has been serving as a Professor at the Department of Humanities of UNEC.
Since 2019, she has also been the Director of the UNEC Multiculturalism Research Center.
In 2023, by the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, she was officially conferred the academic title of Professor.
She has participated as a project leader in several national and international research projects, including:
the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan project “The Model of Tolerance in Azerbaijan’s Multicultural Environment” (2016–2018); the project “Development of a Scientific Website on the Heritage of Caucasian Albania” supported by the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2022); and the international “Khinalug Documentation Project” at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University Frankfurt am Main (2014).
In 2021, she was awarded the “Distinguished Education Worker” badge by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Since 2024, she has been a member of the Expert Council on History and Archaeology of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2025, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of UNEC, she was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by order of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
She is married and has two children.
