Majnun Gadir oghlu Mammadov was born on 15 September 1983 in the settlement of Minjivan, Zangilan district. His family originates from the village of Yukhari Mazra in the Jabrayil district.
He completed his bachelor’s studies in General Economics: Accounting and Audit at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) from 2000 to 2004. He subsequently obtained an MBA degree in Business Administration from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan.
Mr. Mammadov began his professional career in 2004 as an accountant at Billur & Astron. In 2005, he completed an internship at ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan in Almaty. He served in the military from 2006 to 2007.
In 2007, he joined Deloitte as a Financial Consultant. He later served as Director of AER LLC from 2010 to 2011.
From 2011 to 2015, he held the position of Director for Business Development at Modern Group, where he primarily oversaw agrarian-sector projects.
In 2017, he participated in the SABIT (Special American Business Internship Training) program in the United States, specializing in Innovation and Efficiency in Agribusiness.
From 2015 to 2018, he worked in various capacities at PMD Group, a company within Pasha Holding. Starting in 2018, he served as Director of Agro Food Investment LLC.
In 2022, he enrolled in the joint executive master’s program of Wageningen University and Tilburg University in the Netherlands, specializing in Food and Agribusiness Management (EMBA).
By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 14 April 2023, Majnun Mammadov was appointed Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
