The mission of the Center is to align teaching with modern requirements through the application of digital technologies, implement distance learning formats, and facilitate UNEC’s transition to the electronic university model.
The “UNEC Extern Center” was established on 12 November 2019 by Order No. 994/3/2019 of the Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Professor Adalat Muradov. As of 15 September 2025, the Center has continued its activities as an independent structural unit under the name Digital Education
Center (UNEC Extern).
In 2020, following the formation of its material and technical base, the Center became fully operational, equipped with six teaching studios and administrative offices. Classes have been delivered via live video connection, archived, and made available to students for on-demand viewing at any time.

Vision: The UNEC Extern Center aims to become a leading hub for digital education innovations at the regional and international levels. Through the integration of digital technologies, artificial intelligence, learning management systems, and online education platforms, the Center seeks to enhance the quality of instruction and serve as a model for the “Digital University” concept in the region.

By establishing a flexible, accessible, and secure electronic learning ecosystem for both students and faculty, the Center supports UNEC’s transition to the electronic university model.
