The application and admission process for foreign citizens to the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) is carried out through an electronic portal.

If a person does not hold Azerbaijani citizenship and possesses only a foreign passport, they may apply as a foreign student. At the same time, foreign citizens who wish to take DIM examinations are required to have a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) or a Permanent Residence Permit (PRP). Exception: An applicant who takes the DIM examination with a PRP cannot be admitted as a foreign citizen. Such individuals have the right to education within the country on the same basis as citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Admission of foreign citizens is conducted directly by universities. The educational background corresponding to the relevant level of education and the applicant’s proficiency in the language of instruction are assessed by the educational institution. If the applicant meets the requirements, their admission is officially approved.
• An application addressed to the head of the educational institution indicating the chosen specialty, language of instruction, and mode of study (the application may also be submitted electronically);
• A notarized copy (or copies) of the legalized (or apostilled) educational document(s) from the previous level of education, showing the subjects studied and grades received, along with a notarized translation into Azerbaijani;
• A medical certificate confirming the absence of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B and C;
• A valid travel document (passport);
• A 3x4 cm photograph;
• A certificate confirming proficiency in the language of instruction (if available); • Copies of honorary awards, certificates, diplomas, and similar documents (if available).
An international student must submit the original documents in person. In exceptional cases, the documents may be submitted by a person holding a notarized power of attorney issued by the student.

International applicants select their field of study and language of instruction via the portal.edu.az platform and submit the required documents electronically. Applicants who meet the established requirements are granted the right to study at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).
